Clinical Services Intake Analyst I or II - DOE
Remote only within OR, WA, ID, UT

The Clinical Intake Analyst acts as the initial point of receipt for all incoming work for the Clinical Service Operations teams (includes documents related to Utilization Management, Care Management, Disease Management and Appeals). Manages timeliness and organization of work received in multiple ways and locations, images work in to the system, and insures HIPAA and privacy standards are met for all incoming documents. Utilizes knowledge and experience to triage the work and determine the nature of the inquiry and correct work assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Uses appropriate tools and systems to research incoming documents related to utilization management (UM), case management (CM), disease management (DM), provider and member appeals.
  • Uses knowledge of member benefits, UM, CM, DM, and appeals and research to correctly identify the correct work type and appropriate workflow process.
  • Manages workloads by distributing the work in a way that work can be completed within necessary timeframes.
  • Images documentation to comply with HIPAA and privacy laws.
  • Manages high volumes of inquiries on a daily basis; is able to multitask, prioritizing and asking for assistance as necessary.
  • Adheres to department standards for quality, timeliness, and department processes and procedures.
  • Supports Performance Guarantees by providing coverage for urgent/expedited appeals on long weekends.
  • Performs basic administrative functions such as: Requesting maintenance or repairs for office equipment; Maintaining inventory, supplies and files; and, Assisting with mailing correspondence.
Minimum Requirements
  • Effective communication and basic writing skills.
  • General computer knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet search).
  • General organization, data entry and administrative skills.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Familiarity with health care benefits, systems and documentation.
  • Ability to evaluate clinical documents and forward to others for resolution.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and learn, retain, and interpret new or evolving information, and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision to prioritize work, meet deadlines and achieve operational standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above

The Clinical Intake Analyst I would have a High School Diploma or GED and general office experience plus 1 year of experience in Regence Customer Service or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Clinical Intake Analyst II would have a High School Diploma or GED, a minimum of 1 year experience working as a Clinical Intake Analyst I or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
