We are seeking a CNC Prototyping Machinist to join our Research Prototype team. This person will be an expert in CNC programming, process development, and machining who enjoys working with engineers and designers to prototype ideas from start to finish with ownership of the entire process. The ideal candidate brings diverse perspectives stemming from broad experience with fabrication processes and prototyping methods not limited to CNC machining.The prototyping machinist will collaborate with engineers on part design to assist with fabrication, minimize lead times, and improve outcomes. A typical part will fit inside a 200 mm cube, while tolerances can be as tight as +/- 10 microns.The state-of-the-art prototyping facility includes 3 and 5-axis precision machining centers, water-jet, wire EDM, and multi-axis lathes. The CNC Prototyping Machinist is responsible for this equipment's safe setup, operation, and maintenance, including tooling, fixture specification, and procurement.
