Adjunct Faculty Positions
Fall 2021 Semester
The University of Illinois College of Law is one of the oldest law schools in the country, with an accomplished and influential faculty, a smart and collegial student body, and a strong alumni network. In addition to its full-time faculty, the College of Law regularly employs distinguished lawyers as adjunct professors, particularly in its upper-division elective courses. The College of Law is currently accepting applications for adjunct faculty positions. Though it will consider applications from lawyers in all subject-matter areas, it expects to have particular needs in:
-Women and the Law/Feminist Legal Theory
-Critical Race Theory
-Environmental Law and Policy
-Upper Level/Specialized Corporate Law
-Trial Advocacy and/or Trial Team

All of these courses will be taught at the Law Building in Champaign, possibly with an online component. These courses would be taught one or two days per week; some are taught during the day and others in the evening. These are part-time, non-tenure track appointments generally between five and ten percent time. Each will be taught during the fall semester (8/16 to 12/31). Pay will be commensurate with workload and experience. These positions are not eligible for University benefits.
Applicants must possess a J.D. and have at least five years of practice experience in the subject area in which they will be teaching. Prior teaching experience is preferred.
