We are actively hiring for a Commercial IT DevOps Engineer.

Essential Responsibilities

Operations management

  • Collaborate with commercial sprint teams, GW cloud operations, CSAA IT Operations team, platform vendors and SI partners to continuously improve and drive operational efficiencies.

  • Work with IT Operations leadership and Guidewire cloud assurance group to strategize and integrate the commercial applications with the CSAA IT Operations group and Guidewire Cloud Operations group.

  • Triage incident and support day today issues reported by users and Guidewire cloud operations teams with sophisticated knowledge of defect management.

  • Hands-on configuration and integrations with Guidewire's InsuranceSuite, including but not limited to PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter.

  • Collaborate with engineers to resolve root causes and keep problem resolution/issues log.

  • Support assigned systems with on-call availability and respond within agreed timeframes.

  • Expert in system integration, ongoing data validation processes, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions

  • Deliver high-quality solutions to ensure our customer's investment in technology is consistent with their business objectives.

  • Provide recommendations and input in the design, development, and deployment of future use of technology.

  • Solid understanding of guidelines that use approved designs of technology solutions.

  • Facilitate delivery of new enterprise-class products and services.

  • Collaborate with other domain professionals/product owners.

  • Creating and maintaining documentation and operational runbook.

  • Explain sophisticated subjects to a diverse audience with a wide variety of technical and business skills.

  • Experience with building a suite of monitoring service having knowledge in implement Monitoring Tools and Dashboards for Various Services and Operations for the Platform Following the Enterprise Monitoring Strategy and Tools.

Release management

  • Works with support teams (i.e. Sprint, Cloud Operations, Cloud Assurance, InfoSec), to drive the release(s) of various applications in non-production and production environments.

  • Coordinate the provisioning of environments, provides input and visibility on code branching to sprint teams, and other IT partners.

  • Collaborate with Guidewire and SI partners to lead the deployment and release, cloud assurance workflow for all products.

  • Adhere to established processes for change management; contribute to status reports regarding change management and deployment activities.

  • Resolve deployment issues or impediments; document resolutions for future reference.

  • Provide recommendations on the tools and resources needed to perform successful deployments; coordinate and track the progress of deployment teams.

  • Experienced with CI/CD and how best to Implement CI/CD Practices (GIT, Jenkins, BitBucket, TeamCity)

  • Perform release management (all activities related to releasing new project version: BitBucket, Hudson, Maven, etc.).

  • Explore opportunities of migration existing manual implementation process to a continuous integration and deployment process, providing better tracking and management of code

  • Building frameworks, automation, and tooling to enable a culture of quality within the organization

  • Compose, document, deliver and support release upgrade packages.

What would make us excited about you?

  • Bachelor's degree in related area (Computer Science, Engineering, or Business) or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Deep knowledge of and experience with Guidewire's InsuranceSuite products

  • 7+ years' experience in leading information technology systems and projects under IT Operations

  • 5+ years demonstrated success in matrix management and influence environments

  • Demonstrated ability in Incident/risk management, change management, and project management

  • Resolves issues with good knowledge of technology landscape by demonstrating technical and appropriate business proficiencies

  • Team player with excellent communication skills as well as the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with project management and workflow tools such as Agile, Jira, Scrum/Kanban/SAFe, etc.

  • Knowledge of AWS Native Services like Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3

  • Java/J2EE and REST Webservices

  • ITIL Foundation Certified

In compliance of Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be, or could be performed in Colorado. If performed in Colorado, this position has a salary range of $110,415-$129,900 with an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 12% of eligible pay
