What You'll Do

We are currently seeking a North America Commercial Manager, Racquet Sports who is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining category initiatives, market planning and general day to day operations in order to achieve our brand & financial objectives.

Working closely with the Global Commercial Director, the position will help manage our market in North America by creating strategies and processes from assortment planning, asset management and promotional activity, sell-in process, and sell-through programs with the sales/marketing team.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Being the regional expert in understanding category ranges, key products, distribution, end user benefits and price/value relationship.
  • Validate the regional range / mix and channel targets in line with our Global Brand objectives and KPIs to maximize category sales and profitability.
  • Determine product drops and flow of stories by channel and account type, including e-comm (D2C & D2X).
  • Determine pricing (wholesale and retail) across all channels & categories, and drive execution in order to achieve financial targets.
  • Partner with Sales/Marketing to identify business development opportunities and promotion strategies
  • Educate sales teams about strategy, seasonal initiatives and product offers.
  • Provide relevant consumer insights and product opportunities that can be integrated in the future line planning.
  • Partner with Sales and Operations on forecasting and inventory planning, especially to ensure the right depth supports the assortment plans.
  • Participate & support business planning meetings and lead regional commercial briefings.

What We're Looking For

This role requires a Bachelor's Degree in a Business related field. An advanced degree is desirable. We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years of relevant commercial, sales, and/or merchandise management experience for consumer products; athletic and/or sporting goods market experience a plus (Market and Customer Insight). Experience with overseas markets and retail experience are of advantage!

Other qualifications include:
  • Must demonstrate a strong business awareness while understanding the bigger picture; thinks of result, efficiencies, performance and quality; suggests solutions and drive initiatives
  • Expert understanding of how category range, key products, competitive landscape, end user benefits and the price/value relationship work together in the online space.
  • A strong understanding of the online market landscape including consumer targets, channel dynamics, key accounts, and competition is required to be successful and help manage our business objectives on a daily basis
  • Self-confident, with the presence, interpersonal skills and experience to bring credibility to others
  • Structured disciplined thinking and understanding of how actions affect the P&L
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to communicate and work effectively across regions and cultures in a matrix environment
  • Proven analytical and strategic planning ability
  • Proven problem-solving ability via data driven and marketplace dynamic solutions
  • Must be comfortable in a fluid and evolving organization with a highly collaborative work style
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-20% in region and internationally
