Cad & Design Technician

Job Summary:

The CAD and Design Technician will become part of a skilled team of Tucker's Virtual Design and Construction department. They would be involved in all aspects of modeling, from design, coordination to fabrication for both Mechanical and Plumbing systems. They would help to prepare Submittal, Field, Fabrication and As-built drawings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare various CAD deliverables including drawings and models
  • Provide support to new and current project design and/or drafting team.
  • Maintaining project schedules, coordinating workflow and balancing workload along with managing project budget.
  • Provided support for VDC Management to coordination and negotiate critical issues.
  • Maintain documentation records of generated drawing deliverables.
  • Ensure project documentation and contracts are in compliance with the standards set forth by the Project Documents, and/or Company Standards
  • Conduct project related model reviews
  • Provide field support to collaborate and coordinate design model and installation requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide technical reports when required.
  • Review shop drawings, respond to RFI's and attend construction meetings.
  • Perform field Scanning and processing of scans for use within project model.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in AutoCAD, and Revit is required and experience to Navisworks is a plus
  • Experience in working in a Revit work-sharing environment.
  • Experience in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with computers.
  • Experience in Mechanical building trades (HVAC/Plumbing).
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally with clients, contractors and members of the design team.
  • Strong teamwork, communications, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and organize work.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
