Overview / Responsibilities

Wood seeks a Technical Field Advisor , essentially a Multi Discipline Support Field Engineering role for a temporary term assignment (12 weeks) in Franklin, PA.

The Field Advisor will have responsibility for performing the hot commissioning and tuning of three (3) single pressure level, gas fired, HRSGs while resolving job site technical issues presented by team. When necessary, the Field Engineer will be responsible for interfacing between the engineering department and the site operations team for the timely and complete resolution of all job site technical issues. The Field Engineer will interface with the Site Team. The Field Engineer will be knowledgeable about project standards, specifications, and scope of work. Field Engineers will also support the project as directed by project management. Field engineer will also interact in a professional manner with the client in multiple areas such as technical clarifications (RFI), contract responsibilities, technical process development, and problem resolutions. Responsible for coordinating assigned subcontractors on the jobsite. Safety is the responsibility of all our team members. Job site location is Franklin, PA.



Key Responsibilities:

• Commission and tune the HRSGs and ancillary equipment to meet the contract specifications and allow to pass the performance guarantees.
• Provide support and witness the Performance Testing of the units (by others)
• Interface with the Site Operation Team and home office engineering team and Field Personnel as required to complete all assigned task.
• Subvendor's TFA Coordination (as applicable)
• Proposes solutions to engineering and other field related issues that arise from the execution of project installation activities.
• Provide timely and complete resolution to technical questions and requests for information
• Help resolve design conflict and field interference issues, with support from the engineering department
• Maintain and publish field sketches for problem resolution
• RFI development, resolution, and tracking
• Ensures compliance with job specifications
• Other duties as assigned by the Project Manager / Engineering Manager
• Assist in monitoring and answering any subcontractor questions and concerns.

Skills / Qualifications

• Extensive track record i n boiler commissioning, tuning and testing
• Able to be coached/mentored a by senior engineers
• Degree in a relevant technical discipline is essential
• Knowledge of quality control documentation, practices and procedures
• Knowledge of computer software with experience with MS Word, MS Excel and other common business software
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
• Ability to live and work in cross-cultural work setting
• Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos
• Authorization to lawfully work in the United States without sponsorhsip from Wood is required
