Position Overview

Motiva's Public Affairs Team is looking for our next Communications Partner. Are you a proven communications strategist and tactician looking for your next opportunity? Responsibilities

  • Develop strong, trusting relationships with executive and departmental leadership teams, providing communication strategy and counsel.
  • Deliver high-quality, high-value communications materials and tactics that create an emotional connection with the target audiences.
  • Create effective channel mixes depending on audience and desired outcomes, with your primary audience being employees.
  • Develop content for a variety of channels, including intranet, talking points, emails, internal town halls, videos, social media posts, and digital signage.
  • Contribute to editorial planning, with responsibility for content ideas and appropriate project timelines for your business groups.
  • Identify and implement new tools and processes to improve our communications.
  • Manage third-party resources as necessary for video production, photography, and other services.
  • Identify, track, and report outcome-focused metrics.
  • Work with both clients at corporate headquarters and at manufacturing complex in Port Arthur.

Qualifications
  • Communications professional with five to eight years of experience in developing, managing, and executing strategic internal communications in support of business/function objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or related discipline from an accredited university.
  • Exceptional project manager with proven capabilities to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong writer, capable of writing in a variety of styles and tones, across many different channels/platforms/formats.
  • Comfortable editor familiar with AP Style
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership at a strategic level, coaching and counseling them, and influencing leadership thinking in strategic communications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; experience in email marketing platforms and video creation a plus.

Additional Information to Know
  • This position will be based in Houston, Texas, and has a flexible work schedule.
  • This position will report to the Communications Manager.
  • This position will have occasional travel to Port Arthur, Texas
  • Local candidates preferred; relocation not offered for candidates outside of commuting distance.
