Vertiv is hiring a Compliance Engineer in Lincoln, Neb., to support rack PDU manufacturing in order to develop and maintain regulatory schema that maximize our agility and flexibility. You will collaborate with project management, offering/product management, development engineering, test engineering, and operational teams around the globe to advise, inform, test, and coordinate both the activities of our own lab and contracted Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories. As part of the product life cycle, you will enhance our existing certifications to accommodate new components, comply with new regulations, and facilitate new manufacturing locations.

JOB SUMMARY:

Vertiv is a market leader in IT & Edge infrastructure encompassing a broad portfolio of data center products. The Compliance Engineer in Lincoln, Neb., along with providing design feedback during the development process, is responsible for the coordination, execution, and maintenance of the product safety and conducted/radiated emissions compliance for rack PDU products.

As a Compliance Engineer, you will understand Vertiv's unique approach to rack PDU manufacturing in order to develop and maintain regulatory schema that maximize our agility and flexibility. You will collaborate with project management, offering/product management, development engineering, test engineering, and operational teams around the globe to advise, inform, test, and coordinate both the activities of our own lab and contracted Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories. As part of the product life cycle, you will enhance our existing certifications to accommodate new components, comply with new regulations, and facilitate new manufacturing locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (Underwriters Laboratories, Intertek, TUV Rheinland, etc.) product certification approvals (5%)
  • Acquire Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory certification on new products (30%)
  • Contract and coordinate with outside laboratories to establish Federal Communications Commission and Electromagnetic Compatibility testing (5%)
  • Maintain and expand UL Client Test Data Program and IEC Witnessed Manufacturer's Testing Program (5%)
  • Acquire international product safety markings including NOM, PSE, GS, CCC, etc. (25%)
  • Compile and maintain CE compliance documentation (5%)
  • Qualify alternate components to support existing designs (10%)
  • Participate in design teams to support compliance during new product development (10%)
  • Provides production support, sales support, and purchasing support (5%)
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 0 to 3 years of experience working in product safety, Electromagnetic Compatibility or Quality desired
  • Knowledge of IEC/UL 62368 and/or other international product safety standards
  • Familiarity with laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes, Hi-Pot, touch current meter, power sources, etc.
  • (Preferred) Familiarity with Underwriters Laboratories 62368 Laboratory Test Procedures
  • (Preferred) Knowledge of EN55022, EN55024, and/or other Electromagnetic Compatibility standards
  • Excellent communications skills, in both verbal and written formats
  • Excellent organization, time management, and project management skills
