Who We Are

On May 1st, 1989, Rich Ackley and a team of talented people pooled their combined 100 years of experience and founded Dalmatian Fire, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana. On the same day, Rich also opened a branch office in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The second week of Dalmatian's operations, the company sold an $8,900 tenant finish sprinkler job in Cincinnati. Now, over 27 years later, we have produced in excess of $515 million in fire sprinkler revenue.

In 1995, we opened our third branch office in Columbus, Ohio, and in 2005, we opened our fourth branch office in Louisville, Kentucky.

We joined Shambaugh & Son, L.P., a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc. and together we perform more than $800 million of construction projects per year with over 2,700 employees throughout 50 states from our home office in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Job Summary

This position will work within our Fire Protection Division at the Indianapolis, IN location. This position will help lead to the success of Dalmatian Fire by producing quality and competitive Fire Protection systems in an ever-changing economy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects for Fire Protection Systems.
• Attend project jobsite meetings, start up meetings and understand the complete scope of work required for this project.
• Review and understand all of the project bid documents.
• Assist with change order estimates.
• Coordinate with General contractors and Construction managers for scheduling and other coordination types of meetings.
• Complete equipment submittals of various products for approvals.
• Assist accounting staff with billing information.
• Operations and Maintenance manuals.
• Work as a team with our engineering and estimating staff.
• Submittal and retrieve permits from local AHJ.
• Purchasing of selected materials for your project.
• Assist and provide support for field operations.
• Able to see the overall requirements of customer satisfaction without losing sight of the details.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of construction. Understanding fire protection systems is a plus but not required.
• Computer literate and comfortable with spreadsheets and computerized software programs.
• Excellent communication skills with customers, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and owners.
