CLASS SUMMARY: Responsible for the oversight and administrative support for Maintenance and Operations contracts. Primary contact person for all contracts assigned by the Department Head. ESSENTIAL DUTIES : This class specification represents only the core areas of responsibilities; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.

  • Maintains various reports for work completed, performance, and regulatory records as required
  • Oversees critical passenger systems and their associated contractors including but not limited to the Baggage Handling System (BHS) and Automated Guideway Transit (AGT)
  • Ownership of maintenance contract budgets, implementation of cost controls, and invoicing
  • Maintains working relationships with contractors, suppliers, and tenants to resolve issues related to daily operations
  • Supplies analysis and reports to KCAB staff and contractors
  • Aids contract personnel on the Computer Maintenance Management Systems, responding to questions, troubleshooting issues, and working with IT to ensure they are addressed quickly and efficiently
  • Provides data and reports for audit of Board contracts within the maintenance groups and assists with verifying contract compliance
  • Problem-solving contract-related issues
  • Provides requested information to draft motions, justifications, and reports for Board meetings
  • Assists in determining when contingency plans should be put into place and monitoring performance of those plans. Will be responsible for recommending and implementing any changes that need to take place with those plans.
  • Responsible for all contract management activities as documented in KCAB Policy 1014, Contract Management. As the subject matter expert responsible for all key aspects of contract management ensuring KCAB's interests are represented in any business activities regarding the agreement.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
    Associate degree in a related field to the area of assignment and five years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:
    • Maintains Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance. KNOWLEDGE OF:
      • Airport operations, policies, and procedures
      • Mechanical and electrical maintenance procedures
      • Math
      • Facility and asset management
      • Project management. SKILL IN:
        • Clearly and effectively communicating, negotiating, and advocating, both orally and in writing
        • Use of a variety of computer-based technologies including word processing, and spreadsheets
        • Critical thinking and problem solving
        • Manage confidential information
        • Establishing and maintaining effective, fair, cooperative, collaborative, and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups. ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
          Positions in this class typically require standing, walking, fingering, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
          Medium Work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
