Overview

This incumbent performs a variety of duties to support shipping department to assure on- time shipments. Creates shipping documentation, bills-of-lading, etc. This position relies heavily upon good organizational and administrative skills. Responsible for routing outgoing freight shipments and transportation needs of the company. This incumbent must work in concert with internal and external customers, such as, the shipping department, casing, scheduling, trucking lines, and customer service. Position requires cross-training in several positions within the Traffic Department.

Schedule Wed-Sat 6:30am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities

• Releases and prioritizes orders for processing
• Creates shipping and documentation including bills of lading
• Routes shipments through customer website
• Process shipping reports by entering data into spreadsheets and electronic data base
• Works closely with Logistics providers to assure on-time shipments
• Filing Freights and transportation documentation
• Responds to inquiries regarding status of shipments
• Back up for Shipping and Imaging Coordinators
• Create and distribute shipping schedule and log
• Coordinates orders and prioritizes shipments
• Communicate accurate shipment details
• Must be able to work under pressure in a team environment

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred.
• Read, write; add, subtract, multiply, and divide- understand implied instructions
• Excellent attendance is required
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Job related knowledge should include traffic and distribution processes
• Ability to learn and comprehend changing processes of customer requirements is required
• Computer skills including excel, word, email and the internet
• Must be able to learn PKMS inventory system
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required
• Must be able to work overtime when needed
• Good organizational skills and able to handle multiple priorities
• Must be able to work safely in a distribution environment
