WHAT YOU WILL DO AT SAPUTO

Job Summary:

Is responsible for the day-to-day quality review and audit of quality control records, compliance documentation to ensure the facility is operating within quality-regulatory limits and guidelines. This position provides specific support to ensure facility compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Federal and State agencies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily time and temperature chart review, report variances and document corrective action plans.
  • Review filler weights, document and report any variances.
  • Under guidance, maintain and update quality forms, SOPs, policies
  • Support audit preparation for internal and external audits
  • With QA Manager, monitor FSMA pre-requisite programs to ensure programs meet standards to include annual review.
  • Input/update FSMA/HACCP/Food Safety, Quality and Defense records and provide corrective actions in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Monitor/update all Quality System Records
  • Conduct employee training to include SOP's, QA, Food Safety Training for newly hired employees, refresher and support annual employee training.
  • Facilitate and perform Food Safety/HACCP, Food Quality, Sanitation, Food Defense, Food Micro, Organic, HALAL, Kosher, CCP, GMP, Allergen training and employee awareness.
  • Audit product inventory and usage reports.
  • Audit product inventory and usage reports using SAP and other system reports.
  • Data entry into QA Systems/websites (Dairy.com/ICIX, SAP, etc…).
  • Audit facility sanitation records, report variances and corrective action plans in support of FSMA compliance, report variances.
  • Perform daily time and temperature chart review, report variances and document corrective action plans.
  • Review filler weights, document and report any variances.
  • Support special projects/hold root cause investigations for product quality variances as required in support of QA standards.
  • Support plant employee training as required/SOP annual training for QA team.
  • Maintain Kosher/IMS/Organic/rBST Free Listing/Certificate, track expiration dates.
  • Maintain files for Quality Department.
  • Support internal audits in all areas of plant-5S, GMP, Glass, Food Safety.
  • Perform or initiate record review of QA Systems with QA leadership team for FSMA, HACCP, SQF compliance.
  • Support product Mock Recall process.
  • Provide back-up for the QA techs, if necessary.
  • Comply with the Saputo Code of Ethics and actively apply the Saputo Values.
  • Other job duties and tasks as required.


WHO IS RIGHT FOR THE ROLE

Job requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a science-based area (ex: Microbiology, Food Science, Dairy Science) of study preferred, or a minimum of 2 years high level plant-based laboratory experience.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
  • Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.


Physical Demands:
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment throughout the shift.
  • Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment and following approved chemical handling procedures.
  • Physical lifting up to 40-lbs intermittently throughout shift
  • Shift flexibility. This is a support role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility.
