Job Summary/Basic Function:
Direct Counseling and Consultation Services:
This position is responsible for providing a range of direct professional counseling services, for Boise State University students, faculty, staff and dependents of these groups, within the scope of services offered by Counseling Services. Direct services include treatment for a full range of mental conditions, excluding diagnosis that are deemed severe and persistent and require a higher level of care than Counseling Services is equipped to provide. Treatment modalities include individual, multi-person, and group counseling, crisis intervention, AODA evaluations, and psychological assessments. This position provides direct clinical supervision to member(s) of the fellow ship program who are recently graduated with their licensure or are currently in their masters program working toward licensure.

Indirect Clinical Services:
This position is also responsible for providing administrative and management functions for Counseling Services Fellowship Program through the recruitment, administrative monitory, education and clinical supervision of post-graduate part-time clinicians and master level student trainees, which includes but is not limited to: compliance with all professional ethics, standards of practice, legal statutes, professional educational program standards and requirements, as well as professional development.

Supervisory responsibilities: 4-8 students or part-time clinicians

Level Scope:
Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignments/projects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees.

Essential Functions:
65% of the time the Position must:

Clinical Counseling and Consultation Services

• Provide direct service counseling (individual, multi-person, group, psychological evaluation) to Boise State students, faculty and staff within the scope of services offered by Counseling Services.
• Provide crisis intervention and triage coverage to students and university community.
• Other clinical services as assigned (AODA assessments, ADHD assessments, etc.).

20% of the time the Position must:

Fellowship Program Coordination

• Meet the administrative responsibilities of running the Fellowship Program: (recruitment, interviews, placements, scheduling, assignment of supervisors, managing evaluations, compliance, case oversight, lead monthly supervisors meeting).
• Facilitate or Co-facilitate the group supervision experience for the members of the Fellowship Program.
• Coordinate and provide appropriate topical trainings for members of the Fellowship Program (and other staff as assigned).
• Serve as liaison to academic programs regarding the placement of the student trainees.

15% of the time the Position must:

Administrative & Indirect Services

• Serve in administrative duties as needed.
• Participate in weekly psych rounds, staff meetings, documentation, and projects.
• Supervise Fellowship students and/or part-time staff.
• Assist Director of Counseling with daily clinical coverage through daily oversight, maintenance, and problem solving of the Fellowship member's clinical schedules, maintaining a focus on accessibility, productivity, and quality.
• Design and conduct developmental and outreach program activities that are helpful to the mental health of the university community.
• Consult as requested or assigned with parents, faculty, staff and community about mental health concerns.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Clinical knowledge, skills, and experience related to providing individual, couples, and group counseling, such as empathy, listening skills, problem solving, a wide repertoire of intervention and assessment strategies, adherence to pertinent ethical and legal statutes related to the provision of mental health services, awareness of personal and interpersonal dynamics, and a comprehensive understanding of mental health models, policies and procedures related to the field of psychology and clinical counseling and social work.
• Crisis management skills and experience related to assessment, intervention, collaboration, and utilization of crisis referral resources.
• Supervisory skills and experience related to the ability to be supportive and encouraging while skilled in methods of case analysis, knowledge of various theoretical orientations and supervisory models, and ability to critically evaluate clinical and professional skills as well as give constructive feedback to supervisees.
• Presenting skills and experience for communicating information in an oral or written format, the use of various learning modalities, group facilitation skills, and knowledge for addressing a diverse population.
• Organization knowledge, skills and experience in successfully managing multiple functions simultaneously, and seeing projects through to completion.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work.
• Current Clinical Licensure in either Counseling or Social Work in the state of Idaho, or ability to become licensed in the state of Idaho soon after starting in the position.
• Registered Supervisor in the state of Idaho, or ability to become a registered supervisor in the state of Idaho soon after starting in the position.
• Strong history of clinical supervisory experience.

• A percentage of students who seek support through this position report an experience of trauma and identify as LGBTQIA+ and/or a Black, Indigenous, Person of Color (BIPOC). Preferred candidates will have demonstrated experience in serving LGBTQIA+ individuals, BIPOC, and individuals who have experienced trauma.
