Credit Administration Intern

About the Position

The Credit Administration Intern will assist the Credit Administration team with all aspects of credit adjudication, credit analysis, portfolio management, and loan closings and servicing. Other responsibilities will include working with the Credit Administration Manager on special projects that will improve upon an already existing process and infrastructure.

Normal Day-to-Day Work

  1. Support the preparation of credit underwriting analysis of new and existing loans.
  2. Assist with portfolio management and annual review responsibilities.
  3. Support the Credit Administration team with Quality Control (QC) reviews of approved loans and their documentation.
  4. Ongoing monitoring of existing commercial transaction to ensure compliance with all approved terms, conditions, and applicable covenants (both financial and reporting).
  5. Work directly with outside vendors to understand software reporting capabilities, and create reports needed for the lending and servicing group.
  6. Write and run queries in multiple databases, create and modify business reports using various reporting tools and troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
  7. Design, create, and fulfill requests for reports and information. Work with lending/servicing department to understand business processes, and outline report requirements for assigned projects.
  8. Assist the loan closing team with document generation, document collection and QC of prospective loan closings.
  9. Provide timely and accurate data and analytics to support decision making.


Job Qualifications

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be considered for this position.
  1. Currently seeking a degree in Business Administration, or related field.
  2. Ability to quickly learn how to interpret financial statements and apply basic lending concepts and financial analysis.
  3. Ability to function in a Business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  4. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer printer).
  5. Travel required sometimes.


This is a paid internship, running May 17 - August 6. All candidates must be able to work on site in Raleigh, NC.
