Overview

Falconwood is a woman-owned / veteran-owned company providing consultation and programmatic support to Department of Defense (DoD) Information Technology (IT) initiatives and programs. We provide expert advice and consultation on a diverse range of IT subjects, focusing on acquisition, cybersecurity, engineering, logistics, and process development.

We have an immediate opening for a Data Analyst to support the MyNavy HR IT Solutions program. The MyNavy HR, IT Solutions program manages a large portfolio of business applications, systems, and initiatives delivering critical capabilities used by active and reserve forces, civilians, retirees, and Navy families 24/7 around the world.
Responsibilities

  • Advise others on analytical techniques.
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
  • Performs data analytics functions to include acquisition of data, cleansing, transformation, and validation with the outcome of data relationships, built-in data models, and visualizations in various tools.
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Organize, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-makers and drive successful operations.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various data sources using SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies.
  • Keep data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality within data systems.
  • Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge across critical tasks and high-impact assignments.
  • Develop and submit status reports as required.
  • As required, develop, deliver, and update working level, project, and senior leadership briefs.
  • Communicates data analysis and findings in a clear, concise, and actionable manner in presentation and report format.
Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must have a SECRET clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or business-related field; or High School Diploma with at least 13 years of relevant experience
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, data visualization, data management and governance, and transformation experience
  • Ability to apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments
  • Ability to apply originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks that may be broad in nature
  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Access, Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to operate within a rapid-pace, dynamic environment, often-times managing multiple programs concurrently.
  • Excellent organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
  • 10 years of data engineering experience
  • Detailed oriented with strong written and oral communication skills
  • Familiarity with Agile concepts
  • Awareness of cloud computing
  • Experience with supporting DoD acquisition programs and life cycle processes
