Job Description

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI)/Horizon Engineering is seeking a Design-build Project Manager in our Orlando, FL office.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead in the preparation of technical proposals
  • Assist in leading and developing the Design-build design team
  • Mentoring of staff and direct work assignments
  • Work with management to determine long-range plans and objectives for the Design-build team
  • Maintain client relationships and assist in developing future business
  • Ensure projects and schedules, budgets, and profitability of assigned projects, overseeing the preparation of plans, specifications, and proposals
  • Assist with developing conceptual and preliminary engineering and final design activities, as well as the development of construction plans, calculations, and specifications
  • Coordinate with other design disciplines such as roadway, drainage, structures, traffic, and utilities, etc.
  • Review, monitor and/or develop complex layouts, sketches, plans, and specifications for projects
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience on transportation projects
  • PE License in Florida is required
  • Significant experience leading design teams on FDOT and/or municipal projects
  • Project management experience on transportation projects
  • Experience serving as a Project Manager on Alternative Delivery projects is a plus
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Ability to compile letters of interest and technical proposals
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails, and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members
