Location: Remote - U.S.

The Thermo Fisher Director of Ecosystem Development is a highly visible role with exposure to our corporate leadership team, our divisional leadership teams and customer leadership executives. This role is a unique and critical position to support our global ecosystem strategy, focused on increasing our engagement and support of new and emerging biotech. In this role you will engage with leaders across our company as well as with our customers, as you work to cultivate, build, and lead strategic partnerships with venture capital and venture creation firms as well as other critical ecosystem players across the U.S. and Europe. As the Director of Ecosystem Development, you will represent the enterprise-wide capabilities of Thermo Fisher Scientific, working with our venture partners to build valuable and differentiated solutions aiding their portfolio companies' scalability and growth. In addition, you will apply your industry expertise and market access to provide vital insights and learnings to help our strategy continue to evolve and scale.

This role offers a truly unique opportunity to work closely with the full suite of Thermo Fisher Scientific products and services and the leaders who oversee them, while focused on a diverse set of industry players that are outside our typical customer target area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with internal functions to support the due diligence process of analyzing new potential VC partners, including understanding the associated commercial opportunity.
  • Engage with customer executives and internal functions to build new partnerships, build awareness of our value prop across the customer base, work with the customers and our legal partners to build new valuable partnership agreements.
  • Ensure the attainment of KPI metrics tied to these customer partnerships
  • Own the partnership account plan strategy development and execution, working closely with a broad network of internal stakeholders to define and deliver innovative solutions that demonstrate our total company value proposition to convey substantial and sustained impact for both our customers and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
  • Serve as customer's primary point of contact to help them navigate our organization, with the goal of providing a world-class customer experience
  • Be responsible for leading high-performance Account Management Teams (AMTs) in an intercultural, diverse, virtual, matrix environment, where you will need to ensure alignment on overall partnership strategy in the face of competing interests and priorities.
  • Use industry knowledge and voice-of-customer feedback to help us continually improve and optimize both our strategy and customer experience.
  • Create a successful, inclusive, and trustworthy work environment that champions our 4i values.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in a scientific field; MBA or Ph.D. is highly desirable
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience working within the life science industry. Experience within the CRO/CDMO industry and/or private equity/venture capital sector highly desired.
  • Experience working within a matrix environment and driving alignment on a common purpose despite occasionally competing/conflicting interests
  • Strong business and financial skill
  • Deep and sincere passion for creating an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative team environment
  • Positive attitude and resiliency to changing business environments.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
