Job Summary:

The Director, Human Resources is responsible for proactively leading all aspects of strategic and tactical HR support for their designated region within the company, which includes California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Colorado, and Arizona. The Director, Human Resources works closely with the regional operational leadership on all things people, including talent acquisition and retention, leadership and employee development, performance management, succession planning, engagement and culture, and legal compliance.



This role is HYBRID. The HR Director must be able to office from a branch location 1-2 days/week and have the ability to travel and support offices across the region as needed, approximately 25-50% of the time.



Duties/Responsibilities:


* Employee relations – strong expertise with excellent knowledge of California and west coast labor laws.
* Functions as key HR strategic business partner with business leadership teams to develop and execute critical business and organizational strategies.
* Acts as a credible coach and confidante to these leadership teams, as well as a strong employee advocate.
* Provides leadership, guidance and counsel on matters related to talent, organizational change, human capital, labor relations, employee engagement, etc.
* Develops and executes HR projects, processes, and programs aligned with business objectives.
* Serves as expert in change management processes to positively impact organizational effectiveness; provides guidance and coaching to leadership team on change management.
* Participates in monthly regional business reviews to present HR metrics and identify any areas of opportunity.
* Collaborates with other HR leaders to share best practices, critical needs issues, and initiatives.
* Provides coaching and guidance to managers on organizational development related matters, including organizational analysis, strategy, structure and key processes to support organizational/business needs.
* Builds and supports an employee engagement strategy that facilitates organizational performance and enables successful organizational change.
* Focuses on operational excellence through innovation, efficiency, process excellence, and accountability.
* Collaborates with fellow human resources team members and experts to effectively deliver best in class human resources leadership and support.

* Exudes passion, high energy, ability to energize others, works smart, displays a sense of urgency, and has a high level of integrity.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and "Customer Focus" with ability to positively interact at all levels of the organization from the field to the board room.
* Maintains current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding Human Resources issues.
* Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, with the familiarity of HR Information Systems

Education and Experience:


* Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
* SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
* 10 years human resources management experience with multi-site responsibility; experience in the construction industry preferred.
* Experience in a highly unionized work environment.
* Practical employee relations experience and deep understanding of west coast labor laws, specifically California, Oregon, and Washington.



Salary Range: $100,000 to $175,000

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
