The Director of Demand Planning will lead continuous improvement of KC North America's (KCNA) accuracy on a variety of key demand forecasts. You will partner with key business leaders to ensure the consistent translation of these accuracy improvements into business results, including higher customer service levels, faster inventory turns, lower shipping costs, and higher capacity utilization, all contributing to sales and profit growth.

To this end, as the Director of Demand Planning, you will be responsible for the management and evolution of:

  • The process for generating individual forecasts and assuring their quality and improvement. This includes both technical processes and collecting input from people with specific data not otherwise captured in data pipelines.

  • The process for interacting with business users of these forecasts to translate accuracy into value.

  • The data sets used to drive the forecasting and planning process.

  • The technologies on which forecast pipelines are built; specifically, providing requirements and feedback to IT managers and executives who select / engage / manage platform and vendor selections.

You will bring voice, experience and leadership in demand planning and S&OP/S&OE and must influence a variety of stakeholders across these disciplines. This includes leveraging internal and external contacts/networks to bring perspective and direction on process, tools, and technology. The role will work in solid collaboration with supply chain/supply planning, marketing, and sales teams to ultimately drive improved processes that enable growth and profitability. The expected impact is improved Forecast Accuracy and Bias results to enable performance delivery.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated improvement in forecast and business outcomes in similar situations, with commensurate management and technical responsibilities.

Geographic Location: Neenah, WI or Chicago, IL

In this role you will:

  • Partner with KCNA S&OP functional areas (Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, Finance) to lead the Demand Planning forecast that enables successful supply and financial delivery of the annual operating plan.

  • Develop, publish, and communicate demand summary documents to all stakeholders inclusive of the KCNA Executive Leadership team.

  • Implement process improvement initiatives that advances the performance results across key areas such as Quarterly and Monthly forecast accuracy/bias, SKU/week forecasting and customer level forecast.

  • Partner with the Data Science, IT and K-C Global teams to integrate statistical forecasting models using machine learning to deliver a highly interpretable forecast.

  • Define requirements for necessary technologies, identify/screen options, guide implementations and provide feedback for ongoing development and machine learning pipelines.

  • Execute Demand Planning corporate financial controls by supporting the implementation and maintenance of financial policies, instructions, and internal control procedures.

About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field

  • 10+ years of CPG experience with successful demand forecasting experience leveraging statistical models

  • Solid technical knowledge of demand planning, including statistical forecasting and demand sensing with the ability to drive system discipline and performance analytics

  • Experience partnering with data science teams to build statistical forecasting models and leveraging models within a robust forecasting and overall S&OP process

  • Cross-functional knowledge through the operation network including Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Distribution, Planning, Sourcing and Supply and Logistics including demonstrated knowledge of financial metrics and drivers

  • Experience implementing and operating S&OP Planning tools like SAP IBP, Kinaxis

  • Experience implementing and operating SAP S/4 HANA, Power BI highly preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to establish vision and strategy and lead implementation

  • Ability to conduct business analyses with data-driven recommendations that advance supply and demand accuracy

  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills across many levels of the organization including senior leadership

  • Ability to lead organizational change, manage multiple projects and prioritize competing requirements

  • Demonstrated contagious positive energy to promote team engagement and drive results

  • Willing to challenge the status quo and facilitate different perspectives to drive solution

  • Travel to Neenah, WI and Chicago, IL each month to support key stakeholder and Demand Planning collaboration
