The Oldcastle Architectural Products Group (APG) is seeking a Director of Operational Performance Systems to lead our OPS team, to continue to drive operational improvements across APGs ~180 plants in North America. OPS is focused on implementing an integrated set of initiatives to maximize production efficiencies, drive financial performance and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Gain understanding of current tools and processes in place to identify areas of opportunity
  • Manage, mentor, and support direct reports
  • Work closely with your team, Site Managers, Operators, Maintenance Managers, and other leaders to gain understanding of needs and gaps in our plants
  • Ensure that the appropriate key metrics are in place at all levels of the organization
  • Manage the design and deployment of new continuous improvement processes and tools to improve operations productivity across all manufacturing locations
  • Coach and manage team on implementation of tools and processes across sites
  • Drive the standardization of processes and the implementation of metrics and best practices
  • Communicate with local company leadership to ensure understanding, receive feedback and gain buy-in
  • Stay current with new methods and technology available to support process improvement
  • Other duties as required

Requirements / Education / Experience

  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time to various sites/companies usually Monday-Friday
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Science, or other technical discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of technical experience in manufacturing (leading manufacturing improvements)
  • Prior experience as Process or Production Engineer is a plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, facilitation, and project management skills
  • Must be a capable leader and an effective change agent in all levels and functions organization
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles; Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma
  • Knowledge of the tools for formulating and implementing process improvements and best practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Be a change agent willing to teach and share his/her knowledge and lessons learned
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of Partners, senior managers, and subject matter experts
  • Ability to identify areas of opportunity for improvement and look for solutions
  • Leadership and proactiveness
  • Highly creative (Thinking Out of The Box mindset)
  • Methodic and well organized
