Our client is based in Solana Beach (San Diego), California and Canberra, Australia, where we have grown from an idea to a 50-person team. We are constantly working across time zones and prioritize communications so that we can stay in sync across the globe. Founded by a team of scientists at the Australian National University and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, our team developed ultra-sensitive instrumentation for measuring gravitational waves and has deep expertise in high-speed digital signal processing. We used the technology to create a new breed of software-defined instrumentation for test and measurement that enables users to acquire data, generate signals and control their experiments.

We are recruiting a Director of Sales, Americas to join our team. The Director of Sales will manage the direct sales team in the US while working collaboratively with our marketing and engineering teams. This role is based in our Solana Beach office (remote candidates will be considered) and will report to the CEO.
What You Will Be Doing - You will be the sales manager and team coach who "carries the bag" you will close deals, oversee weekly pipeline assessments, develop quotas, comp plans, and strategies to hit goals, and provide feedback and coaching to the sales team.
- Under the guidance of the CEO and COO, give the sales staff technical leadership and mentoring to maximize revenue and growth.
- Create company strategies and plans to control an expanding sales team.
- Researchers and engineers in our diverse customer base with applications spanning photonics, aerospace and defense, semiconductor, tech development, and the automated test industries are met with in meetings and customer visits that we personally conduct in addition to coaching the sales reps for.
- Improve sales execution and grow weekly pipeline creation by developing new market segments.
- Collaborate with marketing to create lead nurture campaigns, as well as targeted ad campaigns, for contacts across several international markets.
- Attend tradeshows and conduct interviews, network, and spread awareness of products.
What You Need for this Position - 7+ years in sales management, account management, sales development, and related sales roles in the test and measurement industry.
- Experience selling to industrial, enterprise and research customers, ideally including experience in Aerospace / Defense or automated test
- Experience with a customer relationship management solution such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or comparable for sales outreach, analytics, and forecasting.
- Experience using ZoomInfo or comparable for outreach sequencing and prospecting.
- Flexibility in working business hours to collaborate with customers, overseas operations and partners.
