JOB SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Management Director is accountable for the continuous assessment, improvement, coordination and integration of the department services into the hospitals primary function. The Director provides efficient logistics in order to provide supplies, equipment, and materials used in the facility and develops, recommends, implements, and monitors departmental budgets. The Director maintains and enhances continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities, has budgetary or fiscal support accountability for the facility, and is responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of the facility Supply Chain Management.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
The Supply Chain Management Director assists in the development, recommendation, and monitoring of departmental budgets as directed by the facility Hospital Financial Officer (HFO) and provides in-depth financial analysis to HFO and department managers and directors. The Director tracks supply data such as back orders, manufacturer numbers, expiration dates, product recalls, lot numbers, etc., engages in hiring, staff development, team building, and mentoring of all SCM department personnel and assist in the resolution of discrepancies for SCM and other facility departments. In addition, the Director serves on various committees as a representative of SCM, and Chairs the facility Supply Expense Reduction Team/Product Evaluation with a focus on facility-based strategies of cost savings and inventory reductions.

 

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
The ideal candidate must have the ability to make independent decisions, display a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities and communicate in an effective manner with hospital staff, physicians, volunteers, customers and community members. The ideal candidate must have experience with computerized inventory/tracking system and personal computer skills. A Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Management or related field and five years minimum experience in Supply Chain Management in a hospital setting with three years minimum supervisory experience is required.

- EDUCATION - Bachelors or Equivalent Exp

- EXPERIENCE - A minimum of 7 years experience required
