ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans and Coordinates both inbound and out bound transportation.
• Co ordinates with Materials Supervisor on distribution and storage activities.
• Participates and reviews current procedures for shipping and receiving for improvements.
• Point of contact for Vendor and Customer queries regarding documentation and transportation.
• Prepares and tracks Return to Vendor shipments.
• Compiles data for OTP and OTD for both Vendor and Customer.
• Ensures all shipments are in line with Month closing activities and Customer expectations.
• Coordination in assistance with Materials Supervisor on any Labor issues that may impact distribution.
• Receiving in bound shipments via system and 100% verifies accuracy of paperwork and system entry.
• Ensures System transactions are correct for Inventory movements.
• Shipping - Ensures documentation is correct for shipment destination.
• Traffic - Ensure trucks both inbound and out bound are processed in a timely manner.
• Inventory - Audit daily transactions in relation to inventory when requested.
• Physical Inventory clerical support as needed.
• ISO 9001 documentation and certification are up to date and being followed.
• Ensures both Customer and Vendor paperwork is correct to Company Policy.
• Provide quotes for benchmarking on any Silgan funded lanes for better rates.
• Communicates with 3rd party carriers and 3PL contacts.
• Ensure Inventory is available to ship in line with shipments requested by Customer.
• Raises Purchase Orders for Consumable material if and when needed.
• Provide assistance for internal queries regarding shipments.
• Maintains records for shipments according to Company Policy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Associate's Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two (2) year College or technical school
• Two (2) years related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Computer literate in mainframe and PC applications, MRP/ERP knowledge, Bar Code system experience, knowledge of warehousing, shipping, receiving, inventory and traffic functions and terminology.
• Must be able to perform data entry and word processing functions.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• JDE/SAP experience highly valued
