Position Summary

Operates tractor-trailer equipment in accordance to D.O.T. regulations on or off company property for docking and loading/unloading of product. Communicate with warehouse and transportation staff on a regular basis to coordinate proper trailer drop & hook location. Operate commercial motor carrier equipment and inspect and monitor tractor-trailer for defects, check fuel and refuel equipment as needed

Principal Responsibilities

• Responsible for safely operating Yard Spotter in moving trailers, opening doors and placing trailer into loading or unloading door.
• Must have the ability to back trailers into tight parking spots.
• Perform 30+ moves per shift.
• Responsible for sealing and securing trailer and placing trailer into parking spots Loading or Unloading Dock doors
• Responsible for creating a physical inventory of all trailers on lot at the beginning of shift and end of shift
• Drive and operate Yard Spotter under 15 mph in and around warehouse and storage lot/staging area.
• Be knowledgeable of preventive maintenance checks and services as well as actual scheduled vehicle maintenance and ensure that they are completed.
• Communicate using 2-way radio with warehouse personnel.
• Maintain a neat and orderly storage lot in order to maximize efficiency in servicing the Distribution Center needs.
• Work inside the Distribution Center facility when necessary
• Additional duties and tasks as assigned.
• Safe truck and trailer operating skills are required
• All applicants are subject to criminal background investigation
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Safety, Sanitation, Security: Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
• Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
• Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
• Special Projects as necessary.
• Adheres to and ensures the compliance of Teleflex's Code of Conduct as well as other company policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as required

Education / Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must currently have Class A or C CDL
• 6 month of CDL driving experience preferred
• Clean MVR; No DUI/DWI
• Flexible to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• 1 year of experience preferred
• Forklift Experience (Reach truck, Order picker and Stand up reach)
• Good organizational skills
• Requires ability to rapidly and constantly lift large and heavy packages and boxes and to perform a continuous process of loading and unloading large boxes throughout a scheduled shift
• Must have ability to safely lift minimum of 50 lbs. without restrictions
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, stretch, engage in repetitive motions, push, pull and carry items for a short distance
• Ideal candidate will possess a "can do" attitude with a "will do" work ethic
• Must be innovative, confident and energetic
• Detail oriented; practices good judgment in decision making
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Self-motivated; ability to operate under solid pressure and meet tight deadlines
