POSITION SUMMARY:

A drafter is responsible for liaising with architects and engineers to gather product and structural requirements, calculating dimensions and material specifications, and creating detailed designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software. They play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our technical plans with regulations and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drafting commercial projects with AutoCAD Architecture. Work with structural engineers to complete projects.

Calculating dimensions and material specifications. Maintain existing clients.

Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality.

Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards and meet customer needs and deadlines.

Work with CNC operators and production team managers to answer any questions

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and financial reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries by members of management. Ability to effectively present information to top management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Low physical effort required to sit, stand at files, bend, stoop, lift, and walk.

Maximum unassisted lift 35 lbs, average lift less than 10 lbs.

Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor and calculator.

Requires the ability to communicate verbally, both in person and on the telephone.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Inside average office environment.

Average office noise levels.

Ambient temperature between 68• and 76•

Safety Glasses, steel toed shoes, and hearing protection required while performing specific tasks in and around the plant.

Occasional exposure to shop element such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
