Position Title: Driver - Weymouth Warming Center

Department/Program: Addiction Services - Weymouth Winter Shelter

Reports to: Director of emergency initiatives

Job Summary:

Your position as Driver supports this mission in your day to day duties and interactions with guests at the Weymouth Winter Shelter.

This is a non-exempt position.

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Essential Functions of Position:

• Provide transportation services for Weymouth Winter Shelter such as transporting patients to their discharge destination or appointments, picking potential patients up at the T station, picking up or delivering supplies and mail, and other errands as needed
• General transportation
• Paperwork to include accuracy in recording travel expenses and unit purchases
• Keep motor vehicles in good maintenance working condition
• Maintain a record and schedule for van maintenance appointments
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Requirements for the Position

• Valid Massachusetts driver's license and good driving record
• A COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of the position. One COVID-19 shot is acceptable, contingent on the individual receiving the second shot within the allotted time frame

• Ability to work and interact with individuals with substance use and mental health disorders in a respectful, compassionate and supportive manner
• Some knowledge of general carpentry and some familiarity with plumbing and electrical work
• Knowledge of basic cleaning, painting and general daily upkeep of the building.
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and vendors
• Ability to be flexible and cope with stressful situations
• Ability to plan and prioritize work and to follow through with minimal supervision

Physical Qualifications:

• Able to lift up to 60 lbs.
