Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Campus Safety, Emergency Management, and Environmental Health and Safety and working closely with other colleagues in the Dean of the College Division, the Emergency Management Project Manager, and Clery Compliance Officer primarily responsible for the management and administration of the university's public safety and security-related compliance requirements. The Emergency Management Project Manager and Clery Compliance Officer ensure regulatory compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) for the University. This position requires expertise in emergency management procedures, Clery Act requirements, advanced communication, research, and reporting skills, and the capacity to coordinate projects successfully.
Specific responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:Clery and Regulatory Compliance:
Regulatory Knowledge
Description:Demonstrated expertise with the Clery Act and New York State Security Guard and Peace Officer registration and training compliance requirements.

Description:Demonstrated expertise in meeting public safety and security related regulatory compliance requirements at a small, private liberal arts university.

Description:Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and in coordinating with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

Description:Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective public safety and security training within assigned areas of responsibility. Ability to maintain appropriate certifications needed to provide training.

Clery Act:CAMPUS CRIME REPORTING AND STATISTICS
The Department of Campus Safety will provide upon request a copy of Colgate's Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. This report includes statistics as reported to the United States Department of Education for the previous three years concerning reported: 1. crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Colgate University; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus and 2. fires that occurred in student housing facilities. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security and fire safety, such as policies concerning sexual assault, life safety systems, and other related matters.
