The Division of Undergraduate Education (DUE) serves as the catalyst for enhancing the quality of the undergraduate student experience while promoting on-time graduation for all undergraduate students at IUPUI. Three units report up to the Division: University College, Honors College and the Institute for Engaged Learning.

University College provides a common gateway to the academic programs available to entering students. Programs and services offered by University College focus on assisting students with the development of the knowledge and skills needed for success in the collegiate environment, including academic advising, academic support, career planning, peer mentoring, and new student orientation. University College also offers college readiness programs that focus on helping high school students to become college bound.

Within University College, the Office of Student Employment's mission is to support the Division of Undergraduate Education by empowering students to pursue and to succeed in meaningful, academically relevant college work experiences that enhance both academic and professional growth. The offices serves all enrolled undergraduate students, supports on-campus supervisors and works to build employment pipelines to Indianapolis employers. Through many programs and initiatives, student employment is a strong retention and engagement tool strongly valued in the IUPUI experience.

Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Assists IUPUI students by enhancing opportunities for work experiences with local and on campus employers by working as a team with the other staff members in the Office of Student Employment.
  • Serves as contact person for area employers utilizing work study funding, coordinates the dissemination and content of information about the hiring process for work study, meets one-on-one with students and employers, and coordinates ways to enhance the professionalism and work ready skills of students.
  • Develops and maintains marketing materials, web content, forms and manage social media.
  • Coordinates FWS processes for the Office of Student Employment and maintains the federal regulations while serving as a liaison to campus offices connected to the expenditure and use of campus work study dollars.
General Responsibilities
  • Plans, coordinates, and markets on-campus recruitment events to connect students with potential employers.
  • Assists with managing relationships with employers and alumni through regular communication.
  • Assists with implementing large-scale and/or off-campus events and participates in planning, employer relations, student marketing, event execution, and post-event evaluation.
  • Helps coordinate the logistics and scheduling of information sessions, on-campus interviews, class presentations, and networking events hosted by the career center, featuring alumni and employer representatives.
  • Oversees the online job and internship posting process and makes critical decisions during the review process to ensure all postings adhere to office and campus policies.
  • Interprets and enforces policies pertinent to third-party recruiting and other employment conditions.
  • Reports and analyzes recruiting data for detailed, annual evaluation.
  • Meets regularly with colleagues to assist with analyzing recruitment trends and plan employer relations strategies that enhance existing relationships and identify new opportunities.

EDUCATION

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE

Required
  • 2 years in employer relations, career consulting, or related field

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

This position has the potential to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.

Advertised Salary

$40,000 - $41,000 annually
