Job Responsibilities:
Natural Gas Design Engineer

DDS Engineering and Surveying, LLP (DDSE), is an experienced and highly qualified natural gas/civil engineering, permitting and survey firm that has been performing consulting engineering and construction services in the natural gas industry for many years. We currently perform these engineering services related to natural gas transmission, distribution main design, station design (M&R, gate stations, and regulator stations) and customer services (residential and commercial) for a variety of natural gas customers throughout the Northeast. Our dynamic team is comprised of experienced natural gas engineers, civil and mechanical engineers, surveyors, gas construction personnel as well as in-house staff expertise in the areas of legal, compliance, and safety. With flexibility in location (NY, PA, MA, CT, RI) our fast-growing energy division is seeking thoughtful and highly motivated individuals to be part of our team.

This person is responsible for working with senior level staff and preparing engineering and construction plan documents for a variety of types of projects. These include natural gas utility, transmission, and station facilities. Associated design and drafting for these projects will be performed utilizing primarily AutoCAD software products and can be in 2D or 3D depending on project requirements. This is a fast paced, dynamic position that will require working both independently and as a member of a team of professionals moving projects from concept through construction phases.

Job Qualifications: Skills and Experience
Required

  • Minimum of 2-3 years related experience in natural gas utility design and drafting
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, team player with strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with colleagues, senior engineers, project managers and construction personnel
  • AAS degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
Preferred
  • 3D Modeling experience using Plant3d or Inventor
  • Civil 3D experience
