GHD has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to manage key client projects for our growing Midwest Water Group in Columbus, OH!

Responsibilities of the Project Manager position will be but are not limited to:

  • Work independently as an individual and have a personality to mentor junior staff.
  • Consistently manage and deliver complex linear utility projects with large budgets.
  • Communicate professionally with people during client-facing and internal meetings, project team meetings, and interactions with regulatory agencies.
  • Organize and lead a team of professionals to deliver professional design services for complex linear utility infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare a project understanding and project approach that is consistent with the client's vision for their project.
  • Lead proposal development and contract negotiation to win targeted pursuits.
  • Have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking skills to consistently manage and complete projects within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Interact with contractors to problem-solve design challenges in the field during construction.
  • Have active listening skills to hear a client's current, and future needs, and provide good client care.
  • Possess strong water resource technical skills, such as utility planning, pipe design, hydraulic and hydrologic analysis.
  • Have the skills to run technical software and the experience to know and understand with results of the software output.
  • Have the business acumen to initiate, develop, and foster relationships that lead to opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Water Market Leaders and Business Group Leaders to develop business strategies and initiatives to grow the Water business.
Minimum qualifications:
  • 5 years of linear utility design (water, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers) design experience
  • 3 years of project management of linear utility projects (water, sanitary sewers, and storm sewers)
  • 5 years of experience with design software, such as but not limited to, AutoCAD, hydraulic modeling software for open flow, hydraulic modeling for pipe under pressure, Microsoft Excel to design sanitary and storm sewers, and hydraulic modeling.
  • A Professional Engineer's license is preferable but not required at this point.
