Summary

Work on financial planning and the preparation of operating budgets, which involve activities that are critical to the organization.

Essential Functions

  • Expected to provide internal clients with a level of expertise (i.e. question assumptions, ask clarifying questions to analyze validity of work).
  • Provides analysis of key assumptions, reviews plans and budgets for consistency.
  • Must be able to point out and correct errors, faulty assumptions. May suggest changes in approach. Develops effective presentation materials for Manager and to present to Manager.
  • Works with others to implement solutions, strategies and actions to Manager or others within Finance (may also be internal client).
  • Interprets the contents of financial statements and reports. May need to create pro-forma information to the extent that it is not readily available.
  • Maintains the appropriate standard reports, models, and operating procedures.
  • Documents existing policy, procedures, and processes and increases knowledge of unit deliverables.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to understand, apply, and interpret broad financial concepts as well as accounting concepts, including analysis of financial statements.
  • Analyst to seek development through outside courses or materials (preferred).
  • Strong mathematical, analytical and organizational skills needed.
  • Basic business writing skills needed.

Education & Experience / Licenses & Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0+ years of experience conducting financial and/or business analysis.
