Your Role:
The primary role of the EHS Site Head is to support all EHS compliance activities at our Bedford and Burlington sites. This includes supporting EHS functions within manufacturing, warehouses, laboratories and offices. Maintaining EHS permits and licenses, performing required inspections and investigations, gathering and analyzing data for reports and EHS software management, providing and developing training, assembling metrics and supporting sustainability initiatives will be core responsibilities. A strong focus will be placed on EHS project and program ownership, as well as providing guidance and leadership to junior staff and business partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead EHS programs to ensure compliance with the latest regulations, best practices or corporate standards.
  • Interface with corporate EHS and site leadership team for program development and implementation.
  • Collaborate and strategize with Site Leadership at all levels to set EH&S excellence strategies and annual goals.
  • Work with and provide direction to other MilliporeSigma departments, and compile metrics for internal or corporate reporting.
  • Manage direct reports, consultants and/or contractors for day to day operations.
  • Ensure that all EHS related incidents are reported and investigated to determine causes. Help establish and implement corrective actions and make recommendations for areas needing improvement. Track corrective actions to closure. Ability to lead complex investigations across the site.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training to all personnel as required by regulations and by MilliporeSigma standards and procedures.
  • Lead and assist with internal audit inspections related to the EHS program requirements
  • Gather and manage data related to the EHS programs working with other MilliporeSigma departments, consultants, and contractors; assemble, analyze and deliver the data for reports to State or Federal agencies.
  • Mentor and develop direct reports and/or other junior staff in the department.

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years' experience in the EHS field;
  • BS/BA required in technical discipline Engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, environmental studies, life science or similar field.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing/laboratories.
  • Previous direct reports or direct oversight of personnel.
  • Knowledgeable in local, state, and federal regulatory requirements as well as proposed regulatory or legislative changes at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional certification (CSP, CIH) and/or Master's Degree in related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive to identify potential areas of non-compliance with business or facility changes and set expectations to achieve a future state of compliance.
  • Familiar with management expectations regarding direct reports.
  • Ability to work with all programs in Microsoft Office and software systems for EHS reporting.
  • Proven ability to delegate and develop people
  • Strong organizational, communication and training skills.
