Summary

Act as a lead in project work and cycle cleaning schedules. Assist with orienting, training, and directing the daily activities of the environmental services staff. Maintain assigned area at an acceptable level of cleanliness and order by overseeing cleaning schedules and the performance of the team. Report problems, issues, and recommend solutions to supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Office areas are cleaned in accordance with department standards.
  • Patient rooms are cleaned in accordance with department standards.
  • Productivity standards are met.
  • Equipment is prepared, cleaned and stored per department guidelines.
  • Auxiliary areas are monitored and cleaned (e.g. nurse's station, therapy station, dining rooms, locker rooms, public bathrooms, medical rooms) per established guidelines.
  • Elevator service is prioritized to accommodate patients per established guidelines.
  • Hazardous waste is disposed of according to established infection control procedures.
  • Candidates are interviewed and hired in collaboration with the Supervisor/Director.
  • Sufficient knowledge of individual job requirements is maintained to cover absences on short notice.
  • Responsibilities are delegated to staff and workflow is coordinated to meet department needs.
  • Responsibilities are assumed in the absence of Supervisor to meet stated expectations.
  • Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.

Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience

Education/Degree

Preferred:

• High School Diploma or GED desired.

Experience

Required:

• Minimum six months to one year experience in housekeeping or supervisory role required.

Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.)

Required:

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

• Ability to operate simple mechanical devices such as buffers, scrubber, and vacuums.

• Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.

Preferred:

• Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population.

• Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.

• Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them.

• High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.

• Attention to detail.
