Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Physicians provide a comprehensive range of primary and specialty care services at the 327-bed hospital and outpatient facilities both on and off of the Eskenazi Health downtown campus as well as at 10 Eskenazi Health Center sites located throughout Indianapolis.

Job Role Summary

The Solutions Analyst III is responsible for developing complex software solutions to build efficiencies, integrate systems, solve business problems and/or predict and prevent system failures. This position will demonstrate knowledge about Eskenazi Health's policies, procedures and business operations and coordinates all issues that arise for the application area. Persons filling this position will employ formalized development methodology and practices to ensure delivery of the highest quality customized solutions, contributing to the successful accomplishment of the primary mission and continued development of Eskenazi Health. The Solutions Analyst III will ensure the development of healthy working relationships with operational counterparts. This position supports the management teams' efforts to deliver custom solutions which meet detailed specifications intended to satisfy the documented business needs, as well as understand and support development processes and procedures, which are established to explicitly drive business process.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County. Models Eskenazi Health values of P.R.I.D.E. (Professionalism, Respect, Innovation, Development and Excellence)
  • Acts as a primary contact for an application; engages with end user and coordinates issues that arise in the application area
  • Leads team meetings
  • Assists Product Director with deliverables
  • Facilitates the problem resolution process
  • Demonstrates understanding of and directs the choices involved in application configuration
  • Performs in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with EHR software. Develops and documents internal procedures as appropriate
  • Develops and documents project team procedures for implementing system changes and other tasks
  • Troubleshoots problems and questions from end users and serves as a resource to other team members
  • Assists external EHR staff to better understand Eskenazi Health's operational needs, validates workflows, builds and configures content based on system structure
  • Recognizes unique needs of end user; performs analysis of EHR content and negotiation of any user requested modifications/alternatives; completes modification/build of content based on operational decisions in collaboration with team and Epic TS/resources
  • Develops strategy and understanding of obtaining resources as appropriate
  • Populates databases for which they are the owner documenting decisions and system build
  • Prepares details of specifications as needed
  • Seeks to be taught, coached or mentored

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • Post-secondary certification with Epic experience
  • Operational and project management experience preferred
  • Current Epic and NVT certificationor equivalent certifications
  • Deep understanding of Eskenazi Health and the user community in the assigned area
  • Ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists and manage a project plan
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills and effectively communicates with project leadership and subject matter experts
  • Ability to probe for information about the underlying needs of the organization and user community, which directly influences how the system will be built and maintained
  • Ability to analyze data and formulate project plans
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill with software and promotes continued learning
  • Actively promotes software within Eskenazi Health
  • Serves as a resource for the application with IS team members

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation. Excellent ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Willingness to work as part of a team in a dynamic and complex environment. Ability to work with a variety of people with varying degrees of technical and/or clinical knowledge.
