Equipment Operator, Onsert - 2nd Shift

How will you make an impact?

Will computerize (print) variable/static text on various labels using specialized AB Graphic Automated Inspection Inkjet printer equipment. All Label creation must follow specifications listed on job work order packet and customer profile. The quality and construction specifications must meet the standards as defined by the Clinical Trial Industry and cGMP. Inspects printed material during all phases during production and changes controls to limit and accurate printing defects/mistakes. Ensuring safety first while performing equipment operations and materials are maintained at the highest quality standards as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Location/Division Specific Information

This position is located within the Clinical Trials Division a segment of Pharma Services Group. The Clinical Trials Division is a world leader in global supply chain and biosample management.

2nd Shift Hours: 2:00pm to 10:30pm.

  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of our clinical label manufacturing process with a variety of label types and constructions printing on both automated and non-automated printers!
  • Assists in all pre and post printing processes associated with production jobs as instructed by the group Leader or management.
  • You will be the main operator in the setup and operate of the Onsert booklet printer equipment which includes automated computer controlled integrated vision inspection systems.
  • Die cuts narrow web pressure sensitive materials in line using steel rule die tooling.
  • Has a proven understand of client approved proofs and associated documents to manufacture labels per established specifications.
  • Exhibits solid understanding and expertise of setting up all computerization production runs and Bulk Transfer Labels using the proprietary software application CLPS, as per Department SOP's and WI's.
  • We will monitor label production processing for accuracy and completeness in accordance with SOP's/WI's while completing all daily production goals.
  • Together, we will work to maintain daily and monthly production goals and schedules, proactively relaying any obstacles encountered to management to ensure smooth operations to achieve business objectives and goals for profitability and growth.
  • Demonstrates understanding and ability to trouble shoot and tackle problems.
  • We will inspect label material during print production and performs manual adjustments to avoid and/or correct printing and label print orientation inconsistencies and imperfections.
  • Operates equipment in a controlled manner to limit waste and defects.
  • Offering process improvements to improve products, processes, and environment.
  • Ability to work in an organized manner, paying close attention to even the smallest detail, while maintaining a clean professional work environment.
  • Ability to multi-task to optimize production while maintaining the highest quality output standards.
  • Proactively ensures a quality product will be produced by performing tasks in a methodical manner.
  • Ability to work independently in planning, setting up and manufacturing a wide array of label constructions which meet client specifications.
  • Ensures that all equipment in area of responsibility is maintained per procedures and safety guidelines. This includes keeping up with all current preventative maintenance practices and cleaning daily.
  • Together we will communicate any problems with a given job to immediate team management.
  • Responsible for processing returns of unused base stock after computerization has been passed and shipped daily.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate teamwork as it is vital to complete jobs per established timelines.
  • Cross trained to operate three or more pieces of equipment within the department area and to be proficient for assistance and support as needed to meet business and customer delivery expectations along with potential cross-training.
  • Supports team and management in the training and mentoring of newer colleagues to foster teamwork by ensuring jobs are completed to the highest quality standards.
  • We proactively identifying process improvements to improve overall efficiency and productivity of the production Coding and Re-O team.
  • Assist and supports the training and mentoring of team members to foster best practices to ensure jobs are completed to the highest standards.
  • We work together to alerts Sr. Operator, Group Lead and Management to place request PO for timely for ordering when consumable items and parts on hand are low.
  • Applies current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) in all areas of responsibility.

How will you get here?

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Demonstrates expertise and knowledge of how to operate and manipulate basic printer and non-automated equipment technologies.

Computer proficiency with demonstrated ability to comprehend and transfer information between multiple internal computer programs i.e., retrieving, transferring, saving, and editing files digitally.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Demonstrate solid ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.

We demonstrate expertise to work as a team, collaborate with colleagues and share workload as needed to provide quality customer support.

Knowledge and experience with cGMP compliance

Prior printing and manufacturing knowledge of working with various die cuts or associated printing technologies.

Be able to lift 50-90 pounds.

Preferred Experience and Skills

3-5 years of prior experience working on Onsert equipment and/or equipment of comparable complexity which uses die cutting and automated vision inspection system technologies.

Experience with variable data printing with automated inspection system.

Prior mechanical experience is a plus.

Additional Requirements

Vision testing every two years.

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $20.00-$25.00.
