Summary

This position will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of an emergency management system to ensure timely and efficient disaster preparedness, response, and recovery for the kidney community.

Essential Competencies, Duties and Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Review the Networks' Comprehensive Emergency Management Plans to become knowledgeable about each Network's unique approach to the management of emergency/disaster situations and identify areas of potential weakness/vulnerability in the plan.
  • Manage all phases of emergency management during an emergency or disaster (preparedness, response, and recovery).
  • Manage national-level reporting of dialysis facility operational status, requests for assistance, and unmet needs during emergency and disaster response and recovery.
  • Facilitate Emergency Situational Status calls during disasters, including agenda development and completion of meeting minutes.
  • Monitor the toll-free KCER helpline as well as provide resources and assistance to callers.
  • Represent HSAG in a professional manner, at all times.

Compensation: 75,000 - 90,000 DOE

Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree or certification in emergency response, disaster management, homeland security, public safety, or a closely related field. However, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, based on the ability to demonstrate skills and competence in these areas.

Other Qualifications

  • Certification in emergency response, disaster management, homeland security, public safety, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in managing emergencies and/or disasters at the national level.
