Overview

The Manager of US Meetings and Events manages events that enhance AmTrust's image and improves employee and agent loyalty and experience. This position will assist with the planning, logistics and execution of all details for face-to-face and virtual events both internal and external facing.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of planning to include registration build and management, app creation, survey development, technology needs, meeting space and food & beverage planning, signage, templates, property sourcing, selection and contract negotiations, vendor and customer relations, budgets and reconciliation, accounts payable, transportation, etc. while following company processes and guidelines
  • Collaborates closely with appropriate departments and vendors to ensure all requests, visions, goals, budgets and strategies are seamlessly executed
  • Maintains working knowledge of happenings in the industry as well as up-to-date information on new hotels, restaurants, travel policies, etc.
  • Provides leadership to the Coordinator of US Meetings and Events and ensure new team member is trained for success and has resources needed to execute all functions
  • Contributes expertise, business knowledge and innovation across various AdHoc projects


Qualifications

Required:
  • 5+ years of work experience in the Events Planning Industry
  • Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrate a level of confidence, professionalism, and interpersonal skills appropriate for interfacing and communicating with all levels including executives, both internal and external
  • Creates and builds positive and productive relationships
  • Extremely detail-oriented, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, decision-making and problem-solving skills (solutions oriented)
  • Reliable, responsible, dependable, and capable of fulfilling obligations and has a deep desire to anticipate, engage and satisfy client needs
  • Can calmly and effectively adapt to constructive feedback in high-stress environments

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Hospitality, Food Service Management, Public Relations, Marketing or similar ideal
  • Experience in financial analysis, planning, budgeting, and marketing


Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Ability to report to AmTrust office or work remote
  • On-site management support as needed which includes travel
  • Work up to 12 hours a day on your feet, excluding breaks, while on-site
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs
  • Must be able to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines during peak periods
