The ED, Medical Affairs (General Medicine; GM, including Infectious Diseases - ID) will report to the Head of Medical Affairs with primary responsibility to lead and ensure execution of all programs and functions associated with the late stage development and medical aspects of commercialization of GM/ID assets at Regeneron. In addition to leading the strategy and executional elements of phase IV (post-marketing) and investigator initiated studies program, the role includes being a thought partner with our clinical development colleagues for the purpose of driving innovative GM/ID development strategies, as well as being a collaborator with commercial colleagues helping to ensure strategies benefit from the insight of an experienced clinician.

As the ED, Medical Affairs, a typical day might include the following:

  • Providing deep GM/ID expertise to a rapidly expanding and advancing GM/ID portfolio that will cover many molecules and a multiplicity of Ab platforms, all developed and discovered within Regeneron.
  • Collaborating and providing sound GM/ID guidance to key stakeholders across Regeneron (and alliance partners as needed) including internal GM/ID development experts across Regeneron, the Strategic Program Direction Leaders for GM/ID, as well as colleagues responsible for commercial strategies.
  • Ensuring that scientific rigor and innovation continues to be integrated into all late -stage development and commercialization strategies.
  • Maintaining excellent scientific standing among peers and the ability to address issues with a very high level of scientific rigor and creative solutions.
  • Developing a world-class GM/ID medical affairs team; ensure that our medical team is being challenged and developed to be ready to take on new roles and programs as the portfolio matures

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have an MD with experience in infectious disease or other related area. The ideal candidate will have had at least 10-15 years' experience working in the biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry, primarily in GM/ID therapeutic areas; alternatively, for individuals with less biotech/pharma, vast clinical or clinical/academic experience is imperative. GM/ID late stage development experience, in either small molecules or large molecules. Understands the GM/ID large molecule world and platforms being developed in our industry. Consistent track record of collaboration skills and the ability to partner with others to devise innovative GM/ID development strategies. Prior successful experience handling late stage and commercialization support of GM/ID compounds. Experience and success in assembling, onboarding, leading and developing a group of MDs/PharmDs/PhDs and other medical professionals. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, rapidly changing and expanding environment and juggle multiple projects. Outstanding work ethic and integrity, including high ethical and scientific standards. Strong interpersonal skills particularly motivational, negotiation, listening, judgment, analytic, and conflict management skills, demonstrated by ability to lead teams.
