Support and coordinate serving IMMI/APLP throughout the entire company, in facilities and property maintenance, repair and improvement, while making the most efficient use of time and resources to maintain a high level of professionalism. This position reports directly to the Facilities Supervisor and/or the Facilities Manager.

Resposibilities:

  • Participates as a member of the Facilities Technician(s) team throughout the building, according to current IMMI standards
  • Performs general maintenance/repair activities for building and grounds, including lamp changing, painting, 5S projects, etc.
  • Provides coverage after hours and weekends in order to fulfill maintenance needs or emergency response for building systems and grounds.
  • Assists the building Facilities technicians with the preventative maintenance schedule for building systems and grounds to ensure their proper functioning.
  • Ensures that all building sidewalks, parking lots and grounds are kept in a safe condition.
  • Maintains effective and courteous communication lines with the Facilities Team and Facilities Supervisor, Maintenance & Housekeeping Team and all internal and external customers.
  • Help in completing projects for production, office, and exterior property areas.
  • Work with vendors to create, negotiate, manage and renew contracts.
  • Research invoices and assign payment codes and forward to IMMI, APLP, UHL to process for payment and CC Facilities Manager on communication.
  • Perform "Hazardous" and "Hot" work permits with contractors and IMMI employees.
  • Update Project and Permitting files and folders as needed.
  • Ensure that all applicable facilities related elements of the Environmental Management System are in place, effective and sustained. Including but not limited to managing the Universal waste recycling and maintain records.
  • Ready and willing to address any immediate issue as it occurs even though it may not fall directly into your assigned area(s). Be a flexible, solid team player and apply sound common sense to the issue.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with IMMI safety policies.
  • Performs all duties with the understanding that IMMI designs, tests and manufactures products that save lives. IMMI facilities and facility work must be done in a context of providing a work environment that supports a quality product and IMMI Quality System.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with the IMMI Environmental Management System
Qualificaitons:
  • High school diploma or its equivalent (GED) or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Must have and maintain an active driver's license.
  • Must have good working knowledge of common measuring tools and take accurate measurements.
  • Must have a working knowledge in computers to operate in a Windows environment using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Projects) and be capable of learning the various software applications required to do the job.
  • Must have verbal, auditory and written English skills sufficient to receive work direction, to participate in as well as lead cross-functional teams, to communicate with suppliers, to communicate with internal customers, and to be able to meet the reporting requirements of this position.
  • Knowledge of the proper operation and maintenance cleaning equipment, the use of chemicals used in cleaning and the understanding of blood borne pathogens and how they are transmitted.
  • Knowledge of building and grounds mechanical, plumbing and electrical maintenance and repair techniques and procedures. Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of building and grounds systems (HVAC, power requirements, air compression, lighting, access control, fire alarm/sprinkler systems etc.)
  • Must be able to physically work within the IMMI Westfield facility, on the IMMI campus and the extended APLP properties. This is not a work at home position.
  • Must be able to be mobile for the entire day as required, this is not a desk job. Must be available to provide support to staff as necessary.
  • Must be able to travel as the need arises, such as but not limited to, training, seminars, other IMMI site visits, etc.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. periodically, 50 lbs. and less regularly.
  • Must be able to perform the following as required: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, seeing, observing, and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to contribute overtime as required to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Support the Facilities Team as needed with 24 hour on-site assistance in dealing with any building or grounds issues that poses a hazard or safety/security risk.
