Academic Req: Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social services fields and progressive employment experience in the aforementioned fields that demonstrates case management experience
Certifications: Integrated Case Management, First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention

Work experience: Required - Three (3) years of related experience including experience working in crisis intervention and case management; Preferred - Knowledge, skill, and experience in family reunification, family preservation, and/or the writing and completion of foster or adoptive home studies strongly preferred. Experience and prior knowledge working with immigrant populations strongly preferred. Professional license in behavioral science, human service, or social service preferred

Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables:
1. Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards that are applicable to this position.
2. Maintain a case load in accordance with agency policies and procedures and licensing and contract standards.
3. Provide report drafts and comprehensive, accurate assessment guidance within required timeframes, and in compliance with program quality expectations.
4. Maintain a minimum number of weekly contacts with children and families through documented phone calls and face-to face visits/calls.
5. Continually assess ongoing changes in behavior, circumstances or conditions that may affect child safety.
6. Ensure an appropriate response to crisis calls, that families' needs are addressed through best possible supports, and follow ups are conducted as needed.
7. Engage and involve children and their sponsors in the case work process.
8. Document progress that children and their family/sponsors make toward risk reduction, achievement of service goals and positive case outcomes.
9. Compile, prepare, submit, and maintain accurate records, files, forms, statistics, and additional information in accordance with agency policies, licensing and/or contract requirements.
10. Prepare, compile, and submit accurate Home Study and/or Post Release case files.
11. Participate in weekly supervision with Supervisor and PRN staff as needed.
12. Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs and other activities that promote professional growth and development.
13. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.
14. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
15. Maintain Compass Connections professional and ethical standards of conduct outlined in Compass Connections employee handbook including demonstrating respect for agency staff, the service population, and community members and complying with required dress code at all times.

Other Responsibilities:
1. Independently coordinate referrals, service planning and documentation of services for assigned caseload.
2. Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and make independent decisions regarding the safety and well-being of assigned children and families.
3. Accept crisis calls and provide support to families in crisis.
4. Responsible for supporting Home Study and Post-Release operations as assigned, including the completion and submission of reports.
5. Participate in weekly face-to-face or phone supervision with the supervisor. In consultation with his/her supervisor, make decisions affecting the safety and permanency of the child.
6. Meet all deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners.
7. Act as a liaison with stakeholders, including legal providers and immigration court.
8. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.

Requirements:
1. Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
2. Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
3. Pass a pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
4. Demonstrate mastery of comprehensive safety, resiliency, and mental health assessment.
5. Demonstrate the ability to:
a. Respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics.
b. Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English and Spanish.
c. Work collaboratively with other staff members, service providers and professionals.
d. Provide crisis intervention according to training provided by Compass Connections when needed to maintain a safe environment.
e. Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.
f. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.
g. Work effectively and without intensive supervision both independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
h. Communicate effectively, positively, and collaboratively with national personnel.
6. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all Compass Connections policies and procedures.
7. Must possess a valid driver's license, proof of car insurance, and have an excellent driving record. Must have reliable vehicle for transporting clients and for conducting home visits. Travel required 10% (in- and out-of-state travel will be required).
