HORIBA Semiconductor's proprietary analysis technology is fully demonstrated in a wide range of fields - semiconductors, medical, environmental, science and engine measurements. In high-tech industries like semiconductor manufacturing, HORIBA provides an extensive selection of process monitors for integration into manufacturing lines that aid the safe production of high performance devices.

Our North American Semiconductor group is searching for a Field Service Technician in Austin, TX. Ideal candidates will have experience troubleshooting basic to intermediate level electrical, mechanical, and optical problems on complex semiconductor equipment or similar systems/technologies.

Members of the field service team routinely interface with end-user customers to determine their needs and efficiently determine a path to resolution with minimal supervision.

  • Upgrades Installation & Qualification
  • Software Troubleshooting
  • Customer Training
  • Report Generation
  • Procedure Creation/Modification
In addition to servicing PR-PD Series Particle Detection Systems, the HORIBA Field Service team typically supports service level activities from multiple product groups including (but not limited to) Mass Flow Controllers/Meters, Liquid Controllers, IR End-point Monitors, Chemical Concentration Monitors, Wet Chemistry monitors, etc.

As a premier supplier of semiconductor equipment and components, our customers expect strong communication skills from our service team. Each maintenance task must be well-documented using standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, ServiceMax, etc.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Associate of Science (or equivalent) in Electronics, mechatronics, robotics, optics, or other complimentary technical field.
  • 2+ Years of service/maintenance at a semiconductor (or similar industry) company
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical subsystems
  • Basic experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings
  • Basic network diagnostic capability (Windows based LAN)
  • Previous field service experience interfacing with external customers is preferred.
  • Experience operating or servicing HORIBA PR-PD Series systems preferred.
While travel requirements vary widely for this position (based on customer demand), typical travel requirements for this position will be 30%-50% domestically and < 5% internationally (for training).
