Job Overview:

Field service technicians are skilled professionals who manage the technical needs of their clients outside the company's physical office space and in the company repair facility. They are usually on the field to visit their clients and check up on clients' equipment. Field service technicians are dispatched to provide technical support. They perform installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. They also oversee subcontractors work to ensure that all the work needed is done well. They also conduct diagnostic activities and troubleshooting. Field service technicians also supervise any updating or changes needed to be done in their clients' offices. They are expected to have good analytical skills, communication skills, and highly technical skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor subcontractors and assist them

• Install new electronic systems and equipment in the field

• Run software tests and upgrading software by loading software packages onto devices

• Troubleshoot devices, monitor power and network connectivity, and configure equipment

• Work with subcontractors teams to perform hardware testing & troubleshooting

Repair/Maintenance (in-house or clients facility)

• Troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment and machinery

• Remove and replace faulty components and parts

• Configure communication equipment as Routers & Switches and other active equipment

• Conducting inspections and assessments

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance

• Remotely monitor toll collection systems

• Open & close tickets within JIRA

• Elaborate technical reports

Linux Knowledge

• Connect to a machine using SSH

• Able to navigate in folders using shell commands

• Being able to create some scripts

• Able to look at machine logs

Knowledge in Network Infrastructures

• Configuring IPs Fixed/DHCP

• Network Layer 1,2 and 3

Basic HW and Electronic Knowledge

• Know what Power AC/DC is

• Know how to read electric and infrastructure diagrams

• Know how to use a Multimeter

Troubleshooting

• Responding to client tickets

Other

• Active communication line with co-workers while adhering to its safety standards and regulations for a safe and efficient

• Document work, including writing short technical reports.

• Must use Microsoft Office Suite.
