Financial Accounting Analyst Senior

Location : This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint location.

The Financial Accounting Analyst Senio r position is responsible for providing technical leadership and setting strategic direction of projects.

The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive familiarity with the Peoplesoft G/L system, excellent reconciliation, communication, time management, problem solving, and leadership skills.

How you will make an impact:

  • Lead a team of 6 accountants through weekly, and monthly accounting cycles with responsibility for results.
  • Handling of external audit requests while delivering appropriate documentation in allotted time frames.
  • Manages close processes, related analysis, and reporting.
  • Reviews and approves journal entries and reconciliations for team of accountants.
  • Prepares and reviews monthly and quarterly financial reports and complex analysis.
  • Designs research plans for data gathering and analysis and manages projects to deadlines.
  • Responsible for initiation and resolution of complex accounting problems requiring technical expertise.
  • Mentors, trains, and coaches lower-level accountants.
  • Responsible for reviewing outgoing A/P payments to vendors and clients.
  • Potentially lead the accounting team through any future client onboarding and acquisitions.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, or related field and a minimum of 5 years' experience in general accounting, finance or budgeting and planning in a large for-profit organization; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
  • Extensive experience with PeopleSoft G/L system strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Healthcare Administration accounting strongly preferred.
  • Extensive experience in reconciliation, communication, and problem solving strongly preferred.
  • Experience in time management and leadership preferred.
