The Financial Aid Advisor, reporting to the Financial Aid Manager, specializes in managing Withdrawals and Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4), ensuring compliance and providing superior service to students and parents. The role includes processing financial aid applications, ensuring accurate awards, and advising students.

Responsibilities

Oversee Withdrawals and R2T4, ensuring regulatory compliance and conducting timely calculations and notifications.

Adjust and ensure accurate disbursement of financial aid awards, resolving any disbursement issues and verifying student eligibility.

Maintain expertise in R2T4, stay updated on regulatory changes, and share updates with the team.

Advise students on financial aid options and implications of withdrawals, assist in completing FAFSA and other forms, and ensure document accuracy for eligibility determination.

Contribute to the financial aid policy handbook, especially R2T4 sections, and prepare for and respond to R2T4 audits.

Stay informed on financial aid regulations and best practices, support financial aid initiatives, and present workshops at high school events.

Offer services across campuses and perform other duties as directed by the Financial Aid Director or Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.

Minimum two years in Financial Aid or Student Accounts.

Proficiency in MS Office, and familiarity with systems like Banner, Colleague, PowerFaids, or PeopleSoft.

Deep understanding of federal and state financial aid programs, R2T4 processes, and ability to communicate complex policies.

Excellent communication, ability to maintain confidentiality, and strong organizational skills.

Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
