Title: Financial Data Analyst

SUMMARY OF ROLE

The analyst's key responsibilities will be to collect data and perform complex analysis on shared services activities and bring technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of the data. The analyst will design, process and present the analysis to help the team make better strategic decisions for the organization. The analyst will require a deep understanding of the business processes, policies and systems to identify trends and behaviors represented in the data. This role will help develop and maintain score cards that show results for the organization and that will be used internally for the team and presented to others in the Westfall organization

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Results-driven; accepting responsibility for individual performance and contributions to team projects.
• Provides in-depth analyses of business results, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and communicate findings with senior management.
• Work with departments to understand key drivers and enhance financial modeling and forecast accuracy.
• Identify areas of improvement, create a plan to address improvement areas, execute and provide reporting/analysis for the plan.
• Analyzes data to explain trends and variances from budget and forecast.
• Provides vendor and customer performance and requirements analysis
• Ability to work with cross-functional groups in a collaborative environment.
• Manages time effectively in order to meet timelines across multiple projects.
• Leverages solid excel and financial modeling skills.
• Performs a variety of tasks and ad-hoc analysis.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong systems skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent critical thinker and effective problem solver with creative solutions.
• Detail oriented and highly organized.
• Must understand accounting treatment and impact of vendor and customer actions
• Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to present to senior management.
• Deals well with and finds ways to decrease ambiguity.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field required.
• At least two, preferably three to five years of data analytics and critical thinking.
• Clear understanding of Debits and Credits in financial accounting and reporting
• Multiple ERP systems experience, IQMS and EPICOR preferred
• Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office modules - excel, word, powerpoint
• Creative, out-of-the-box thinking experience
• Work Flow and Value Stream mapping - LEAN experience is a bonus

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is in an office with low to moderate noise level.
