Description:
The Fitness Attendant is responsible for distributing keys and towels to members and guests, maintain clean/organized locker room areas and stock supplies in accordance with center policies and procedures. Fitness Attendants provide exceptional customer service to guests using the fitness center and ensure for a healthy and safe environment.

I. Position Summary:

The Fitness Attendance is responsible for distributing keys and towels to members and guests, clean locker room areas and stock supplies in accordance with center policies and procedures, or, supervise children in the playroom in accordance with fitness center policies and procedures.Fitness Attendents provide exceptional customer service to guests using the fitness center and ensure for a healthy and safe environment.

II. Position Responsibilities:

Acknowledge all members while walking through the facility. Develop and maintain professional relationships with members by providing personal attention using a proactive approach. Provide exceptional customer service.

Be knowledgeable about all programs and services provided by the fitness center and enforce facility rules and code of conduct.

Provide basic orientation and guidance to users of the fitness equipment when needed.

Perform fitness equipment inspections and report daily results of any problems or needed repairs.

Will conduct rotating work shifts among the: Main Fitness Center, Cardio Fitness Studio; Weight Lifting Studio; Aquatics department; Towel/Key Service; and Locker Room checks. Ensure a safe environment and respond to emergency situations.

Maintain order and cleanliness of all workout areas (also follow and maintain sanitization, health and safety guidelines in accordance with the IDPH and the CDC).

Perform other activities and duties as needed that address the ongoing health and well-being of members. Work collaboratively with staff in supporting departments as needed.

III. Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:
  • Required: High School Diploma.
  • Preferred:High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education.\

Minimum Experience:

Required:Less than 1 year of previous job-related experience.

Licensure/Certifications:
  • Required:N/A
  • Preferred:Personal trainer certification a plus.
  • Other:CPR/First Aid Training completed within 90 days of hire.
