**This position offers a $500 SIGN ON BONUS for new Ricoh Team Members!**

POSITION PROFILE

This is an entry level forklift operator trainee position, which will allow entry level employees with limited experience to broaden their skill level and become proficient on various types of material handling equipment (powered and non-powered). This will include a comprehensive training course which will consist of close monitoring and coaching while cross training in multiple departments.

Requirements to complete the program:

  • Complete "Safety on the Move" forklift certification course (course completion take approximately 8 hours)
    • Video training
    • Hands on equipment skills evaluation
    • Review Forklift Inspection process
    • Written evaluation test
  • Complete a 90 Day Trainee Program: graduation from the program will be based on proficiency:
    • Learns to become proficient on all department equipment including:
      • Order Picker
      • Turret
      • Sit-Down forklift (electric and propane)
      • Dock Stocker - (Stand-Up)
      • Reach Truck - (Stand -Up)

  • Promotion to Forklift Operator title requires: Evaluation at 30-60-90 days
  • The trainee will successfully complete the program by demonstrating proficiency on the 5 different types of material handling equipment (powered and non-powered) listed above.
  • The Trainee will be able to operate all powered and non-powered material handling equipment efficiently and safely.

The trainee will be able to meet all job duties and responsibilities listed below.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will be able to utilize RF equipment to accurately process all inbound (Receiving) and outbound (Shipping) and internal orders and requisitions, while ensuring all transactions processed are accurate in item and quantity and processed accordingly.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensures that all company safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • May need to perform cycle counts and assists with inventory accuracy by performing Quality Assurance inspections as required.
  • With appropriate cross training, provides backup support for job functions within other departments.
  • Performs stock consolidation to improve inventory production performance and maximize warehouse space.
  • Maintains company 5S standards throughout assigned area of work.
  • Meets and maintains productivity and quality standards relative to job responsibility as defined by department manager.
  • Inspects and QA all outbound freight to insure correct items, quantities and no carton damaged freight is shipped without Manager approval.
  • Palletize & Loads shipments to ensure no damage is incurred during transit.
  • Loads product onto LTL, TL Trailers, Containers and Vans.
  • Inspects all inbound freight for quantity and damage and completes appropriate documentation to include carriers BOL as per the department's Standard Work Instruction.
  • Maintains knowledge of and adheres to all department Standard Work Instructions to which assigned.
  • Completes the daily forklift inspection checklist, inspects material handling equipment for proper operation and reports any needed repairs to management.
  • Performs C-TPAT compliance inspections and documentation per standard work instruction for all inbound and outbound international shipments.
  • Maintains operational and warehouse security per C-TPAT policy.
  • All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Previous forklift certification for Reach, Dock stocker or Sit-down forklift a plus.
  • RF scanner experience a plus.
  • Must have excellent math, reading comprehension skills and the ability to write legibly.
  • Minimum of 1 year warehouse experience preferred.
  • Must be physically able to perform assigned tasks including walking, standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time and ability to lift 50lbs.
