Responsibilities:
• Responsible for providing plant support auditing operations in the batch and furnace areas, developing operating procedures, developing process improvements, directing and implementing furnace repair projects, and trouble shooting operating problems and emergencies.
• Monitor and guide plant Batch and Furnace operations through data review email and regular phone contacts.
• Plan and direct hot repairs to the furnace and cold repair glass drains and heat ups.
• Participate in furnace cold repair design improvement efforts.
• Troubleshoot operating problems.
• Develop operating procedures and standards from best practices.
• Investigate process improvements to procedures or facility equipment utilizing internal and external resources.
• Conduct formal audits and monitor/facilitate corrective actions.

Qualifications:
• An undergraduate degree in a technical field preferably engineering or science.
• Five years experience in a similar position or in Batch and Furnace is preferred.
• An understanding of glass formulation and furnace design principals is desired.
• Must be a creative innovative and analytical sound individual and be able to make statistically sound decisions.
• Must have a working knowledge of statistical analysis and proficient skills in Microsoft Applications.
• Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills for all levels of the organization.
• Must have strong planning and organization skills be detail oriented and have the ability to identify problems and make recommendations.
