The PayPal Marketing Finance team is looking for a seasoned people manager who is ready to lead a global team while partnering and influencing senior leadership in the Global Marketing Team as well as Corp Finance. This is a role at PayPal with a direct opportunity for impact. PayPal is the world's most trusted payments brand and this role will help shape the evolution of our brand and development of our newest businesses. This person will oversee daily finance operations, guide the business through various finance-related tasks, own budgeting, forecasting, month-end close, variance analysis and reporting. This role will need to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Controllership, Global Sourcing, Legal, Analytics and a range of highest-value revenue and KPI initiatives.

The ideal candidate for the FP&A Sr. Manager will be a self-starter, have an inquiring mind and a proactive nature, strong business acumen and a passion for creative problem solving. He/she should have a solid background in finance/compliance as well as a strong understanding of marketing and be able to translate business decisions into financial impacts and communicate effectively across teams.

Job Description:

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Business partnering with Marketing VPs and the other cross-functional teams located globally; able to gain cooperation and influence
  • Build and retain a strong and effective global team; oversee month-end close and reporting activities, forecast, variance analysis and reporting of Opex (as well as Contra)
  • Drive continuous process improvements both within the team and with the business
  • Provide analysis and recommendations to leadership groups quickly and effectively to drive results
  • Ensure strict adherence to corporate policies and GAAP regulations
  • Lead training/education both within the team and with partners

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree - Finance, Economics, Mathematics, a related field or equivalent practical experience

Minimum of 10+ years FP&A experience in a medium/large company environment
  • Background in Accounting/understanding of GAAP
  • Polished communication and presentation skills that are executive-ready
  • Detail-oriented and organized without losing sight of the big picture and priorities; able to connect the dots
  • Relationship-oriented - able to read and proactively react to the needs of business partners
  • Able to navigate in ambiguous/unclear situations, quickly analyze the situation and identify appropriate courses of action
  • Challenges the Status Quo and believes things can always be improved
  • Effective time-management and prioritization skills to help the team as well as manage workload
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with an excellent level of experience with PowerPoint, Excel (pivot tables, xlookup, index match formulas)
  • Solid experience in budget and reporting applications: SAP BPC and BW a plus
